TSC International Research Conference

University of Sussex, Brighton, UK

11 - 13 September 2008

The 9th International Research Conference on tuberous sclerosis complex will feature a diverse programme of research presentations in the areas of clinical problems, epidemiology and natural history, neurobiology and epilepsy, neurocognition and behaviour, social care, TSC genetics and molecular biology and clinical trials.  A copy of the provisional programme will shortly be available.  Registration is now open; please book by 25 August 2008

In addition there will be several related meetings which will take place immediately after the end of the conference.

1. A meeting of the TS International with representatives from the LAM Treatment Alliance to discuss ways in which the TSC community can work more closely with the LAM community.  This meeting will take place on Saturday afternoon following the conference. 

2. On Sunday morning there will be a further meeting for LAM researchers/clinicians to demonstrate accessing the global LAM/TSC patient population through an interactive patient-researcher platform designed by the Media Lab at MIT.

3. A research update, presented by international and UK specialists, for parents, carers and individuals with TSC.  This
Study Day will take place on Sunday, 14 September 2008. 
 

Accommodation

Brighton Pier

The venue and accommodation for the meetings will be the University of Sussex which set in 200 acres of beautiful parkland on the South Downs.  It is the only university in England situated entirely in a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', with easy access to Brighton, London and Gatwick Airport.

The University is located just outside the lively cosmopolitan city of Brighton which has a rich eclectic cultural life.  There will be an opportunity to discover this on Friday evening.
